Limited edition of 100.

Artist Statement: I’ve walked past the Los Angeles Public Library a few times now but never had the chance to properly explore. On my last visit to LA, I was lucky enough to get a private tour which revealed just how much incredible detail I’d been missing.

When it came to working on this print, I couldn’t decide which version to capture, as the building has changed so much over the years. Luckily, I found a photograph from around 1996, the year I was born, which felt like the perfect starting point. I set the scene at sunset, with long dramatic shadows to highlight the architecture’s depth, and put as much detail in as I could to reflect just how intricate the building really is.

I hope it inspires others to take a closer look at this incredible landmark, and to appreciate the care that goes into preserving its original vision while also serving the community.

Artist Bio: I’m George, a London-based illustrator whose work celebrates the warmth, light, and architecture of Los Angeles. My prints offer a moment of escapism, a love letter to the city from an outside perspective.
